約翰·辛格·薩金特-繪畫兿術欣賞(之二)

美國畫家約翰·辛格·薩金特 John Singer Sargent (1856 - 1925)，攝於1903年

薩金特以名醫著稱的父親因無力改變母親和弟弟妹妹們的身體多病的事實，而不斷的尋找著溫暖的生活環境，

遊走遷徙在歐洲各地，因此薩金特的青少年時期幾乎是在顛沛流離中度過的。

這給他帶來了體味歐洲各地風土人情與文化的機會，他曾爲那山那水、那石那樹以及不同文化底蘊侵炙下，

人們張張真實的臉所感動，但義大利所存有的那份如母親般的特殊情懷卻伴隨了他一生。

薩金特是20世紀早期最受歡迎的美國畫家。
他用他那賦有魔術師手杖般的畫筆讚美著義大利人民、土地和文化，並將此永久地保存在他的繪畫中……

薩金特畫的技巧吸收了當時印象派的“印象化”，即不再拘泥於細緻完整的形體刻劃。

這樣，他的筆觸就“放鬆”多了，這種放鬆的筆觸給人非常活潑靈動瀟灑的感覺。

同時，他又不象印象派那樣走得太遠：如讓形體的邊線完全鬆弛，甚至被光分解、化解。

這些特點，使得他的畫很“討好”，人都愛看。他在歐洲和美國都出過風頭，但在當時，

就已經有人認爲他的藝術很“表面”。在他過世之後，“表面”成爲對他藝術的定論。

然而，現在又另有說法，覺得，他的“表面”正是那個時代的特點，他的作品正可以給一個華而不實的時代做注腳。

在這個意義上，他的藝術成了另一種深刻。
